So we wheeled the aptly named Carnage saturday. I tore my rear brake line off, blew the rear driveshaft breaking a bolt off in the yoke, had a spare shaft, couldn't use it. I think I blew the front pinion gear. So I could not move under my own power, and could barely stop. thanks to Jerry for dragging me back to camp. I need a new hobby?

Bob, ever since you found the gas pedal last year your jeep has paid for it. Was that 2 years ago?

Your time has come I guess. You wheeled and broke the like the last 3 events consecutively. I say go one tons and sell me the front chromolly shafts to help pay for the build. Your ready for the change.

Upgrade to Dana60's with 1410 shafts and youll NEVER brake. Brake lines well its one of those things you cant really upgrade, just cary spares, they take very little room.

I'm sorry Bob. You never brake while I am there. I guess I need to fix my junk and get on the trail.
Did you shear the cross shaft and that caused damage to the carrier? That seams impressive to me. anyone else seen this type of breakage?

Nice work! don't often see that.
Did you test the x-shaft hardness when installing the lock-rite?

I don't know what broke first, the shaft or the carrier? but it was a stock one, not a hardened one.

i think Bobby is referring to how the lockrite instructions tells you to score your stock cross shaft with a file and if it makes a mark you have to buy another one because the one you have wont stand up to the abuse of the locker. i maybe wrong as i did this 4 or 5 years ago, but i remember having to get a new cross shaft because i was worried about mine as it made a small score when i used the file on it and i was rebuilding my entire front end due to a previous bone head move so i didnt want it to get trashed again. that being said, almost everyone i have known has run the stock cross shaft and not had problems.
