"Building" a JK (JK Owners help me/provide advice)
«

In the next few weeks I'm going to be working on one of my bosses friends new JK. And I know nothing about JK's
He wants to run 33's. Would these be ok with stock gears? its the 3.7L, auto trans. Sport edition.
Can I run a 15" Wheel?
What size lift do I need for 33s on a jk? 2"?
If I use a Budget Boost kit, do I need to address trackbars or sway bars?
Suggestions on good winches? It already has a set of bumpers on it, winch ready. I was thinking superwinch ep9 (whatever?)
Apparently there is a kit to move your EVAP canister underneath, who sells this?
Suggestions for skidplates and where?
Thanks guys! Wish it was a TJ, I wouldnt have to be asking these questions!

My understanding is, 33" tires tat are 10.5" wide (metric equiv.) will fit stock. a Budget boost just makes them look better, the 3.8 is gutless stock, so little bigger tires won't help, but I would just drive it and not worry about it.
if you go the BB route, install what is comes in the kit, should be enough.
Winches, what ever really, want to pay for a superwinch or a warn, go right ahead, smitty built winches, from what I have read so take it for that, are not bad, presonally I have been hearing good reviews of Gorilla winches. I guess it is a newer company that started out just importing korean crap, but is not making them in america.. again, only internet reading here.
skids.. everything, JK's are not known for being well protected from the factory.

JK's can fit 33's stock.
http://www.jeepswag.com/
sells the evap relocation kit, but there are also companies that sell a skid for it. I'd just do the relocation but you can do it/assemble the kit and relocate it yourself very easily.
I know some 15's do work as I've had customers come in with them, but most people just run 16 or 17" wheels. I think with some you have to grind the caliper just a little, but I know others who did nothing and they fit, barely.
The front skids I've heard are generally not necessary. The oil pan skids are a good idea. Not a bad idea to switch to smaller/relocate muffler.
Yes.

33's will fit if you don't wheel it. Otherwise you need a BB. 2" will clear 33's for offroad and 3" for 35's. On autos you may have to notch the trans skid to clear the drive shaft. You will need a rear track relocation bracket, The front should be OK for 2". You will need a steering damper the stock ones suck.

2" BB sounds like it's going to be. Going to run 33s. So def need a trackbar relocation bracket for the rear for that height?
Thanks Chris!

There's a couple guys in wm4x4 running jk's and they both did front axle inner c gussets. I guess they are weak on the new jk axle design.
