I must say, that I have owned craftsman tools for a long long time and have never had to use their lifetime warranty. Well I bought a new socket set a while back and both the 1/8" ratchet and the 3/8" ratchet failed on me... So I took them back today - easiest return I have ever had! No reciept, just picked out what I needed, gave them the broke ones, watched him type something in the computer and then he told me to have a nice day. No money exchange.

On my way out of the store I was spinning my new 3/8" ratchet in my hand and it stopped working  Roll Eyes

So I took it back, and he gave me an upgraded $32 3/8" ratchet free.

YAY!

another feature i like about craftsman is that there is a store 10 minutes from my house.  so i can always get the tool or socket i need.

i like em, i particularly like the professional series a LOT better. The only thing is that they dont make specific tools like matco and snap on, however, craftsman is way better for the price. Ive always thought snap on and matco are wayyy to overpriced for what it is.

I have a bucket that I through broke craftsman tool is, once a year or so, I return them for new ones, usually around christmas so it feels like a gift.  I break 3/8 ratchets like it is a hobby, at least 2 a year.

i broke 3 in one day trying to take my project 30 apart. luckily sears is walking distance from my house. lesson learned... don't put a 3' pipe on a 3/8" ratchet and expect it to hold up

I love craftsman stuff.  Anytime I've broke something it's fixed in 20 minues (15 minute drive and a 5 minute transaction).

Not only that, but I think their products are pretty good quality.

I looked into it for my axle hub nut and it was going to be way too much $ than it was worth.  1/2" impact socket that I already had and a 1/2" breaker bar with a pipe did the trick.  Now I use the 1/2" impact socket and an impact gun, that nut comes off "like Buttah"
