what do you use for a hitch on the truck? there are a few fairs around here that have truck pulls and id be interested (and stupid enough) to try it with mine.

my research found that you need a mount that has a hole with I think a 3" diameter but couldnt find much online as far as truck pull supply

All the parts can be bought Online or some trailer parts stores will have them. I'll post pics a little later. What do you have and don't fear the sled Grin

I have an 05 superduty with the 6.0 powerstroke (I know I know bad choice) stock motor, stock turbo, mbrp 4" turbo back straight pipe with dual 6" stacks on 325 tires (34.6"x13")  No tune yet, waiting til I can afford to replace blown headgaskets cause I know I will blow those up.  I have the stock hitch which has a 2" receiver.

I have always loved truck pulls and wouldnt be opposed to making this a dual purpose or DD/occasional sled puller.  I have seen youtube videos of 6.0s doing very well pulling.

Here's my hitch for now. All the parts can be found Online. The ring part is called a lunette eye. Now they are looking for a 3.75" opening. A lot of guys plasma cut the front and rear portion out to make the 3.75. And this is the 6.0 that Pulls with us all the time. He has a tuner and injectors. Great truck.

I don't mind the questions at all.

That will work, but...the ones I have seen (Forged Lunette) is wider than the pintle hook mount. If you know a welder, have them glue it together and put some gussets on it. The bolt holes won't work. Before they go gluing it, the max hitch height is 26" and that is where you want to be. So, slide the pintle mount in and figure out where that lunette is at 26" and glue it there. That's at the top of the eye.

The hitch I showed you doesn't run all that much either and it works. Tested and approved Cheesy

i found a few like the one you have I might just get that version and have it glued on by our own IFAB man or twisty or both.  should I just use a pintle mount like the one I linked to or just use a standard 2" receiver mount and cut the ball mount off?

You can use 2" square stock .25 wall and glue that to the parts or buy and cut like you said. You won't need that much square stock and somebody here might have a piece laying around.

Jay, I might have a few of those  Grin

Ever since my first truck to drive around was a 1996 2500 with the 5.6 magnum...I've loved Dodges.

The more pics I see of this truck, the more I want a dodge lol.
I bought that 05' off the lot in January 05. I now have 109,000 and I have no complaints with that truck in those 109,000 miles. It has done more than I can ask of it. My original serpentine belt and tensioner was replaced at 107,000 miles. The ball joints on the passenger side had a little bit of play and I decided just to replace them all. With the Pulling/Dirt Dragging/Towing that I do with it, I just felt it was better to get that out of the way, those were done last week. The original tranny was replaced with a fully built one at 85,000. With what I knew I was putting it through, it would eventually kill it, I saved the coin and just went for that piece of mind Grin In the near future I'll be replacing the hubs. Still tight, but with the mileage I'd figured I would nip that in the butt before it bites me Grin When I get to doing the U-joint shields and drive shaft loops, I may do the u-joints then. They're still original Grin

I have nothing against the Duramax and the Powerstroke (now FoMoCo's), but since I've had nothing but luck with the Dodge/Cummins combo, I'll be sticking with it. Sort of like my tires, they work. Won't be using anything else.
