Got it all painted a couple weekends ago, here are some pics. I built a booth in my garage, covered it in plastic and painted it myself. The color is audi TT dolomite grey, and the windshield frame is audi brilliant black. The car hasn't been wetsanded or buffed yet, this was a day or so after paint:
I got it started for the first time last Thursday as well. There are a couple minor things to button up before it goes to the dyno. I made the appointment though, and it goes to Dent Sport Garage on the 22nd. I'm shooting for at least 300 at the rear wheels, 8500 RPM redline. Tom if all goes well, and I can get it registered in time it'll be at your house shortly after

is it just the pics or do the trunk lines not match up?
Looks good, wish I had teh patience and skill to paint my own vehicle with a semi-professional outcome.

Hood and trunk are just loosely bolted down. I haven't gotten around to adjusting them, as I'll be removing the hood for the dyno anyways. I don't think the trunk was even latched in that pic either.

looks nice man, i like the color and paint is not easy by any stretch of the imagination
on a side note don't you just love when you post a pic and someone has to point out some "flaw" that they see? it is fairly obvious that the car is not finished yet! its like when i am building a house and i have something "tacked" in place and the homeowner comes home and asks if that is the finish product . . . . my thought is always "did i ask for final payment yet"

ammm I was asking a question, not pointing something out, for all knew it was a carbon fiber trunk lid that he got dirt cheap but was for a newer miata so the lines wouldn't match up 100%, I didn't know.

engine is broken in, however the damn copper headgasket isn't sealing properly. I'm going to rip it apart and replace with an OEM one hopefully this Saturday, then going back to tune for power and finish up all the fine tuning stuff. I got to drive the car off the dyno and onto the trailer though, which was sweet! First time it's moved under it's own power! It shifted beautifully, and there weren't any weird vibrations, which also means the math on my adapter place was correct, and the work that Tom and I did on the clutch fork and tranny mounts was spot on- what a relief! The car has a transmission and rear diff out of a rx7 (rotary engine) BTW.
Couple pics while it was on the dyno/at the shop:
