is that a real question? its in the title haha.

A CJ so it has no mounting holes for the forward facing bars, like a YJ would have.
and no backseat protection

On my 86cj7 the front b pilliar tubes extend down to the floor and on my 79cj5 the roll cage bolts to the fenderwells

From my experience the change over was mid-year 78 (fender well to floor mount).

Every 79 and late 78 I've own were floor mounts from the factory. Every early 78 and down were wheel wheel mounts. Not saying your wrong, the factory has been known to use what that got on hand.

oh sorry, I forgot there was more than one "CJ" it is a cj7 style, goes to the floor and the wheelwells.
I do not know if there is room for it in the cj5.

The CJ5 and 7 used the same rollbar from 76-78 1/2 - 78 1/2-83
