thanks todd,

i built my cage taller than stock height.  and when i put those spreader bars it was way too close to my head.  if i wore a hat i would probably touch.

does the end of the tube towards the front have to connect right at the a pillar spreader?

i am glad to hear you built it taller than stock, to many guys build their cages to close to their heads and pay for it when they roll and smack their head on the tubes overhead.

it is not totally neccassary to go all the way out to the corners of the A but it would make it stronger.  on that one i did i did not

yeah Ian I would do what you plan just bring the front contact points inward a bit, that particular section won't make or break in a roll.
what about just carrying the two bars straight forward then maybe down the windshield?
just another option.

those are some good ideas guys.  i made my cage taller than stock because I'M taller than stock (6'4")  and even after lowering my stock seats an inch, i was still too tall for the stock height.

i just don't want to go to all of the trouble of building a custom cage and then have to worry about hitting my head.  i don't care about a top, i'll put a bikini top on later.

now that i'm not making fall crawl, i'm going to do a couple things that i was planning on putting off til later

i wouldn't have tired the seats into the cage if i was making fc, would have used the stock ones and done it later

cage update.  its 95% welded.  i will be adding gussets and some trianglation later, but for now, WYSIWYG

changes from last update is the front winshield v is opposite now, parrellel bars on top from center of "a" to center of "b"  (won't hit my head on them now AND allows many options to trianglate later) and tied in rear shock hoop into "c" pillar and then added a spreader bar between them.  i'll probally change this solid link to a unboltable flange setup, unless i put my rear suck-down winch on that spreader.

I would measure under that shock hoop and try and find a nice cooler that will wedge under there.. Looking good, I may have a chance next week to come down and check it all out
